Jesus Gives Life

Jesus is our power source.  John Chapter 1 teaches us that everything was made by Him, for Him, and without Him not one thing would exist.  Without a relationship with Him, we are slowly dying and life begins to seem hopeless and confusing, but the moment we plug in (or plug BACK in) we are instantly aware that there is a limitless supply of power which exists outside of ourselves.  Sometimes we decide that we don’t need to be charging and we unplug ourselves from His power; we think that we are doing ok and that we are strong enough to carry on with just an initial charge.  What we fail to realize is that when we unplug ourselves from His power we begin to use our own strength to attempt to do His work which is an exercise in futility.  Only God’s power can accomplish God’s work.  This is why we get so frustrated, depressed, anxious and dismayed–it is because as soon as we try to be a Christian relying only on residual God born power we fail to be able to do His will.

Here are 2 verses that will encourage you to come back to Christ today and love Him with all of your heart:

  • John 15:5-6 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”
  • Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Life is a journey back to the feet of our Creator.  When we accept that we have a purpose in life that is given to us by God, and God alone, we can embrace a life of purpose that is driven by His power.  This life of purpose is categorized primarily by a passionate worship of Jesus as God’s Chosen One and secondarily by an individual calling to something that He has called you to specifically do.

If you have are struggling today as a Christian; plug back in.  Stop wasting time trying to do a Godly work in human power.  He is the vine and we are the branches.  Branches die without being connected to the source.  Love Him today and trust in His power because it will never fail.
